Each Love Token is both a unique greetings card and a small work of art: a square, hand-folded parcel that opens layer by layer to reveal illustrations, details, and messages within. Write your message in the centre, fold and either keep for yourself or give to someone deserving.
Each pack comes with two paper keepsakes, a practice sheet and instructions. The paper sheets measure 160mm x160mm. The designs are printed on traditional laid paper.
Sir John Soane’s Museum, once the home of the renowned architect, is celebrated for its extraordinary collection of art, antiquities and curiosities. In this design, some of Soane’s key treasures are incorporated into the paper folds.
There is a miniature copy of The Levee, the second painting in William Hogarth’s A Rake’s Progress series, which depicts the moral decline of its protagonist. A tiny Canaletto, a Turner, and the sarcophagus of Pharaoh Seti I are also included, arranged around the blank square for a message.
The outer design features panels from the Shakespeare Recess and the arches surrounding the Dome Area. It is a small, foldable token of the Museum and of the wonderful treasures it holds within its walls.
